Workshop on “Foreign Trade, Export-Import Business and Basic Financial Grooming”

A workshop on “Foreign Trade, Export- Import Business and Basic Financial Grooming” by MR. S.K.Gupta (Chief Executive & Trainer, Exim Enterprises Chandigarh) was organized by RIT-TBI (Incubation Centre) and Department of MBA. The program started at 10am with welcoming the expert and other dignitaries by Dr. Aruna Bhat (HOD- Department of MBA) followed by lamp lighting. In her address she gave a brief introduction about the speaker as well as the related topic. Dr. Parag Jain (Director-RIT) welcomed the speaker and gave an introduction about the importance of foreign trade and export import business for those who want to start their own business and expand globally. He also gave an introduction about Mr. Gupta who is a well renowned trainer who has experience in export import business of more than forty years and is taking sessions on Foreign Trade and export import business at national and international level. He has taken sessions in various reputed institutes viz. ISB Mohali, NIIFT, Punjab, Director General of Cental Audit, Chandigarh etc. Director Dr. Jain also motivated the students to participate in these types of workshops which can directly/indirectly benefit the students in building up their careers.

Mr. S.K.Gupta in his speech explained that Foreign Trade is the mutual exchange of services/ goods between international regions and borders.  Exports can lead to the increase in national output which in turn leads to the path of economic growth and prosperity. He involved students in understanding the basic concepts related to import export business. As the program continued the students started asking queries regarding the rules, regulations, licensing and documentation needed for carrying out business at international level.

After the lunch the session continued for another three hours in which Mr. Gupta involved students to understand their capability and capacity to be a successful entrepreneur. There were several question answer sessions in which students were participative and in order to under the process of foreign trade, Mr. Gupta shared some practical experiences and how those obstacles can be resolved to carry out smooth business process. The program ended at 5pm with Vote of thanks and presenting a token of appreciation to the speaker.
