RIT organized a Workshop on the topic titled “Start-Ups and Incubation” for Students and Faculty Members of RIT on 19th October’ 2019. Prof. A.K Mathur, Director General RIT, and Heads from Management,Engineering, and Agriculture Departments were present during the Workshop. The Speaker for the workshop was Mr. Azam Ali Khan, CEO –TIDES (IIT-Roorkee). The session began with the introductory speech by Dr. Nirmesh Sharma, Asst. Professor, MBA. Further, Dr. Aruna Bhat, H.O.D-MBA gave floral welcome to Mr.Azam Ali Khan. Mr. Khan briefed the different ideas for entrepreneurship while looking at Innovation leading to Start-ups/ Incubation. He discussed the different concepts and issues related to upcoming entrepreneurs with reference to examples from Indian and International Start-Ups like OYO, Swiggy, Ola, Uber etc.,He also invited students to discuss any of their ideas or business in-process so as to make it more realistic and opportunistic. Prof. A.K Mathur, DG-RIT also asserted his views on the role of Start-Ups and told that how beneficial these Start-Up’s are for the young brains. He also emphasise on how STEP Initiative of IIT-R is now transformed into Start-UPs. Before concluding the session Dr. Aruna Bhat along with Prof. A.K Mathur, presented a token of appreciation to the Speaker. The session was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Nirmesh Sharma.
