The Civil engineering department is considered to the best in Uttarakhand. The reason behind this the department has progressed in the major fields of civil engineering. Site visits, Practical-Surveys, Hydraulics, Soil Engineering are a few important aspects of civil engineering. The students are made to focus on the practical classes and the survey especially in the final year after going through the challenges and featured projects, they become more professional and industry-ready.

Specialization certificates are offered to the students and also the faculties apply the use of the latest technology and principles. The students can choose a specialized program according to their interests and industrial requirements.
Nowadays, Computer science engineering is one of the most common choices of the aspirants. RIT offers the best quality of courses in CSE. Not only this, the college has introduced few advanced topics which are not taught by every college in our country- Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Analytics, Machine Language, Cyber Security, Virtual Reality, etc. RIT has been awarded the Outstanding Institute of the Year (2019) in Robotics in India Stem & Summit Awards at IIT Delhi handed over by the Cabinet Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari.

Moving on to the mechanical engineering dept has made advancements by establishing an Electric Vehicle Lab in collaboration with IIT Guwahati. Putting stress on seminars and industrial visits, and internships make the students more progressed and skilled. Students who achieve a remarkable percentage or grades in 12+ are provided scholarships by the college.
