Installation of RO Water Purifier in Government Upper Primary School, Village Binarsi, District Haridwar under UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN

As a mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in enabling the development challenges in rural India and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth, we at Roorkee Institute of Technology, Roorkee took an initiative as a CSR promoter to install one RO Water Purifier at Government Upper Primary School, Village Binarsi on May 7, 2022. Binarsi is one of the adopted villages of Roorkee Institute of Technology under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

The initiative was taken with the cooperation from the headmaster of school, Mr. Sunil Kumar. Children studying in Government Schools in rural India often do not have the access to clean drinking water. They are forced to drink water from unsafe sources such as hand pumps or directly from bore well pipes. The levels of contaminants are often high enough to cause adverse health effects such as nausea, skin rash, vomiting and dizziness. This initiative was taken with the objective of providing the option of safe drinking water to the children in government school of Binarsi. It was a happy moment for the school authorities as well as the children whose joys knew no bounds. The headmaster Mr. Sunil Kumar expressed his joy and thanked RIT Management and Director Dr. Parag Jain to take up such an initiative. RIT students (Utprerna Club of SWAR) under the guidance of Mr. Harshit Gautam took up this challenge and completed it.
