Pathri Power House, Bahadrabad, Haridwar

PATHRI POWER HOUSE, BAHADRABAD, HARIDWAR is a Hydro Electric Power plant under UJVNL, uttrakhand on the Upper Ganga Canal at Bahadrabad, Haridwar. It was constructed in 1955. B.Tech Mechanical 2nd year students visited the plant. The students observed the following :

  1. It has three electricity generating units, each unit produces 6.8 MW electricity
  2. Kaplan turbines are used
  3. Hydraulic and Pneumatic system is used to open and close the valves for supply of water into the turbine
  4. Separate Air and Lubricating oil pipes are used for cooling the trust bearings
  5. PLC and SCADA is used for controlling the whole power plant
