Field tour of B.Sc. Forestry Students on “Modern tools and techniques used in Forestry” held at Himachal Pradesh State Forest Department, Nahan from 8th March to 13th March 2021

Field tour of B.Sc. Forestry Students was organized from 8^th March to 13^th March 2021 at Himachal Pradesh State Forest Department, Nahan.

1. On the First Day Students Visited the Water Shed Management area and Forest Nursery to learn various techniques used in plantation Forestry.
2. On the second day Students visited the timber Depot to learn various methods of Logging operations, Grade classification of the stack and maintenance of the record of timber sale and purchase. During their visit students interacted with Mr. Ved Prakash, (DM, Nahan) and Mr. Kunal Angrish (DFO, Ponta Sahib). Where their guided the students How to prepare for IFS and other Forestry Competitive examination and ensure the students for getting any kind of help related to their academics.
3. On the 3^rd and 4^th day of field tour students visited to various forest based industry like Katha Extraction industry, Rosin and Turpentine Factory, Nahan, Medium Density Fiber board, Industry, Nahan to learn the production of various Timber and Non-timber forest products. On the last day tour was ended with thanks to DM, Nahan for their kind cooperation.
