The Training on Business Analytrics in association with Makeintern and E-Cell IIM Calcutta started on December 6, 2021 at 10 am with the welcome speech and introduction of trainer, Mr. Nihit Saxena by Dr. Aruna Bhat (HOD-MBA Dept.).He interacted with the MBA students and explained about the importance of business analytics in enhancing employability skills and professional knowledge. Business Analytics (BA) deals with the technologies and practices for continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance to gain insights and drive business planning. Mr. Nitin touched upon the fundamental principles of BA and asked students to activate the Tableau .The students were eager to understand this new technology. He provided all the insights related to analytics and asked the students to do practical sessions so that they can do present their views. The session was very informative and dual communication made it more worthy. The session ended at 4.30pm. Day 2 and 3 was dedicated to Python Programming where students got information on Data cleaning, data processing, data mining etc. They presented the analysis of data given to them by the trainer. Statistical tools like Correlation Analysis, Regression and Standard Deviation were taken into consideration. The session ended at 4.30 pm with the practical application. Day 4 started with Python Programming. The concepts like Machine Learning, Supervised and Unsupervised learning were also discussed. The post lunch session included coding alongwith pandas concept and Jupyter. The students presented the results and analysis using Python Programming on Day 5. The last session concluded with vote of thanks and appreciation from Director Prof. (Dr.) Parag Jain and Director General Dr. M.J.Nigam. Three meritorious students were selected by the trainer for Round 2 to be held in IIM Calcutta in March-April 2022. All the faculties and students who attended the sessions were given certificates. The programme ended with a group photograph.
