Blood Donation Camp on the occasion of “World Blood Donor Day” on June 14, 2022.

A Blood Donation Camp was organized by NSS Unit, Roorkee Institute of Technology in association with ‘Amar Ujala Foundation’ on the occasion of “World Blood Donor Day” on June 14, 2022.
The camp began at 10:00 A.M with a short inaugural function by the Director, Prof. (Dr.) Parag Jain. encouraged all the donors by saying “Gift of Blood is Gift of Life”.
He thanked all the donors for the noble steps they have taken and to help the fellow brethren.
Prof. (Dr.) Parag Jain, Director RIT stressed on the growing need of blood in the Uttarakhand state and commended the young volunteers for their noble cause.
Mr. Harshit Gautam, NSS Program Officer addressed the gathering by saying that “Blood cannot be manufactured – it only comes from generous donors to save the society and mankind, so we should come forward for this noble cause”.
52 units of blood were donated by both students and the staff members of Roorkee Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
India faces a blood shortage of 3 million units. The problem can be addressed if an additional two percent of Indians donate blood, as opened by the Health experts. Our College has been religiously organizing blood donation camps every year and students and the faculty members come forward voluntarily to donate blood.
Donation of blood is very critical and crucial for saving lives of many patients and those who have met with accidents. It is as such a great service or contribution to the society and people living in it.
